About
About Propcockpit
A risk net between a prop-firm trader and their broker, built in Sweden by a team of traders who kept meeting the same wall: the order that ended an evaluation was never the trade that was wrong, it was the one placed after it.
What it is
Propcockpit is a web cockpit in front of a cTrader account. It sizes each order from a risk per trade, and on a plan that enforces, an order placed through it is checked against the daily loss, maximum drawdown and per-order limits the trader armed before the order reaches the broker. The stop loss on an order placed through it rests at the broker, where it holds if the trader’s connection drops, or ours does; on a paid plan a stop is required before the order is sent. A position opened directly in cTrader is read and counted rather than intercepted; the product never pretends to a reach it does not have.
It is for one kind of person: somebody trading a funded or evaluation account on cTrader, who knows the rules and wants the arithmetic done before the press rather than after it.
Who is behind it
Propcockpit is operated from Stockholm, Sweden, by a team of traders who trade funded accounts on cTrader and choose not to publish their names. That is a choice and not a hiding place: the operator’s registered address and the terms it trades under are on every legal page, and anybody who wants to know who is answering can write to hello at propcockpit dot com and be answered by the people who built the thing.
The product is small on purpose: one cockpit, one risk engine, one job. What it checks and what it cannot reach are written down, on this site and in the documentation, in the same words the engine uses.
How it is built
- The broker connection is cTrader’s official Open API, through OAuth. The trader’s broker password never touches Propcockpit, and the grant cannot withdraw or transfer funds.
- The chart is TradingView’s Advanced Charts, licensed from TradingView and running on our own market data. It is free on every plan and never sits behind an upgrade; we wrote about that choice.
- The risk engine reasons in the account’s own money, holds back a Reserve for slippage, and records what it decided and why - every refusal carries a reference the trader can read back in their Journal. The documentation says exactly how.
- What a plan buys is enforcement and reach, never speed: the latency targets are identical on every plan, including Free.
How the content here is written
The calculators run arithmetic that is unit-tested and printed with its assumptions. The prop-firm pages state a firm’s rule only when it was read on the firm’s own site or help centre, with a source link and the date it was checked; third-party lists are not a source, because they were wrong twice on the day the pages were written. The glossary defines the industry’s words the way the firms use them and this product’s words the way the product does. When a firm changes its terms and a page here lags, the page is corrected, not defended.
Nothing on this site is investment advice. The example risk percentages in the calculators are examples, and every page that shows one says so.
