Consistency rule
A cap on how large one day's profit may be, as a share of the firm's measure of profit, so a pass cannot rest on one trade.
Best day divided by what the firm measures it against, held under a share the firm sets - and firms measure against different things: the profitable days added up with the losing days left out, net profit with the losses in, or the profit target itself. Which one your firm uses decides whether the same days pass.
Against profit that grows, a trader over the share brings it back under by adding profit on other days, not by giving any back: every ordinary day lowers the share of the best one. Against a fixed profit target more profit changes nothing; the cap is on the day itself.
Worked example
Days of +4,000, +3,000, +2,000 and -2,000. Against the profitable days, 9,000, the best day is 44.4%; against net profit, 7,000, it is 57.1%. Under a 50% rule the first passes and the second does not, and adding 1,000 of profit on other days brings the second to 8,000, at which 4,000 is exactly 50%.
Consistency rules in the documented evaluations
| Firm | What the firm says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| FTMOFTMO Challenge, 1-step | The Best Day Rule: the single most profitable day may not be more than 50% of the sum of every profitable day's closed profit. Exceeding it is not a breach, but the phase cannot be passed until further trading brings the share down, and the same rule decides when a Reward can be requested on the FTMO Account. | Programme pageChecked |
| FintokeiStartTrader, 3-phase | A consistency rule in all three phases: no single day may supply more than 40% of the profit target. | Programme pageChecked |
