When does FTMO's daily loss limit reset?
At 00:00 CE(S)T, midnight in Prague, every day. That is 23:00 UTC in winter and 22:00 UTC in summer, and the balance at that moment is where the next day's line is set: 5% of the initial capital below it on a 2-step account, 3% on a 1-step one.
FTMO's objectives page says the Maximum Daily Loss is recalculated daily at 00:00 CE(S)T. CE(S)T is Central European Time with its summer time: UTC+1 from late October to late March, UTC+2 the rest of the year, switching on the last Sundays of March and October. The reset therefore moves by an hour twice a year in every zone that does not switch on the same dates.
In other zones: London sees it at 23:00 all year, because the UK switches on the same dates. New York sees it at 18:00 most of the year, and at 19:00 for two or three weeks in March and about a week around the end of October, when North America has changed its clocks and Europe has not. Dubai, which has no summer time, sees it at 03:00 in winter and 02:00 in summer. Sydney sees it at 10:00 during Europe's winter and 08:00 during Europe's summer, and at 09:00 in the weeks when only one of the two has changed its clocks.
Other firms reset elsewhere: FundingPips at 00:00 platform time, UTC+3, and FundedNext measures against the initial balance rather than a daily base at all. The firm's dashboard is the authority; Propcockpit's FTMO preset sets its Daily reset to Europe/Prague and shows a countdown to it on the cockpit's top bar.
Worked example
A 100,000 2-step account at 102,400 balance at 23:59 Prague time with an open position 900 under water: at 00:00 the base for the new day is the balance, 102,400, and the new line is 5,000 below it (5% of the initial 100,000), at 97,400. The open loss is carried into the new day and already counts against it, so the day begins with 101,500 of equity and 4,100 of room, not 5,000. On a 1-step account the same night sets the line 3,000 below, at 99,400.

A firm or a platform changes its terms without telling anybody here. Each firm page links the firm’s own rule page and shows the date it was checked; the firm’s own page is the one that counts.
